If your long term goal is TAS I think you would be better off transferring directly from audit. If you stick it out one more busy season then you’d probably be in a good position to apply. I just got an offer for TAS with 3 years of experience.

Coming from a TAS perspective - we regularly hire from audit and basically never hire from non-M&A related industry roles.
Why not just try for TAS now if that’s what you want? Groups are hiring heavily.
Agree with Senior Consultant. Just continue to reach out to people within the TAS groups, and try to make genuine connections with them. The movement into TAS is mostly about networking and having baseline audit experience. My firm has been hiring, and I've heard the same from other firms.
