1- check if you have someone in your network that could pass your resume and recommend you
2- if not, contact the recruiter if mentioned with the job description: you will need to have a solid approach to capture the attention of this person
For both, check if you still need to apply though the job board to officially start the process despite the recommendation or a direct engagement with the recruiter.
A personal referral with a nice note. You’ll bypass all the app filters and land in the email inbox of someone with influence on the matter, plus you came recommended. When I last looked for work I was in a new city, so didn’t have any of those connections. Tried to build up a professional network but didn’t lead anywhere. Any interviews I got were from simply applying to jobs and hoping they take notice.
Well no one will recommend you without knowing you. Some companies pay a referral bonus so it could be in their financial interests to attach their name to your application but they won’t actually vouch for you. So don’t just ask them to do a favor for a stranger, find a way to start a relationship. Maybe send a thoughtful email about some work they did, see if they’re willing to review your work, mentor you somehow, then see what develops from there.
Can’t hurt to ask on this app too, never know who’s reading and willing to help :)
