[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Never left and came back, but I've hit the burnout wall more than once and had to figure out how to keep going without completely losing it. The biggest thing was learning to disconnect after leaving work. Sounds obvious, but almost everyone I know in this industry who's struggled with burnout routinely worked after hours. It's unavoidable at times, but if it isn't, you've got to make keeping the laptop closed after you get home a top priority. The work will still get done, and it'll get done better when you attack it fresh in the morning, instead of when you're fried from trying to cram in more after a full work day.
Honestly, I used to tie my self-worth to my number and never really turned it off. Did you find the biggest change was more about your mindset and boundaries or things like the company, comp plan, or your manager? For me, coming back meant treating sales more like a system than a personal referendum. I focused on what I could actually control, like making my pipeline solid instead of sweating every little win. Hitting quota felt way more sustainable when I relied on habits instead of just running on adrenaline all the time.
