Offer tips and offer to help in the moment. "I have an hour where I'm clear in my work, is there something I can do to help you."
Being behind and on management's radar doesn't always equate to a bad employee. It could have been piss-poor training and they just need a hand up.
If they are working diligently and with heart. You have to help. 😊 It would be awful to lose someone like that.
The team is only strong as it's leader , if I see my coworker struggling I would help them because as a team we go in together, we leave together.
Say something. I hate when people set you up to fail and just watch you fail instead of saying something or coaching them
I would help them because that is the person that I am. I don't like watching people struggle at all and especially if it could cause them to lose their job. Everyone needs their job especially in this economy so I am all about helping someone keep their job.
I would get their perspective on what concepts of the job they are having trouble with. If I know, I will have lunch with them and discuss ways to help. Offer resources through company benefits to help improve skills or time management. In the moment of the struggle, I will help as soon as I am readily available.

I would help them, as long as it didn't compromise my ability to perform my own role. So I guess it depends on how much help they need and what the issue is. Is it a temporary thing or are they going to be struggling with this challenge about their work long term without any potential solutions available?
That depends on a lot of things. My inclination would be to help someone. But it also depends on what was happening and whether it was something that concerns me. I wouldn't want to be in the position of overstepping or getting out of my own lane.
The team is only as strong as the weakest link. When you’re in a good team- you know it.
When you’re in a bad team - you know it!
And, once you’ve been a member of a really team, you know what a bad team is.
ugh- member of a great team …
I would definitely help them. Team work makes the dream work. A team player is willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.
I would help!
I have been here before in this same situation. I trained and observed said teammate continue to struggle regardless how much teaching and reviewing their mistakes to prevent it wouldn’t happen again…. Just continue to happen over and over. They are not a good fit for the role, they lack the technical skills needed to do the job and I saw there was no accountability for their mistakes. I kept helping them over and over and eventually realized there will never be any accountability as long as I hold their hand and correct their mistakes. So I backed off. Let them fall on their face so my management could see there is no amount of training someone if they just don’t possess the technical aptitude in the first place. I work in clinical data management and use scripting software, database management and ETL processes. When I start to think about it, it makes me mad how they think anyone off the street can be hired to do the job I do. And we are the same title/pay? Nah…I’m not down with that. Whatever reason my manager saw fit to hire this person, she can now deal with the consequences of this person’s poor performance.
I always try to help….but sometimes it’s pointless because the person doesn’t want to know how to fix the problem. And lately, I’m persona non grata at my job because I stuck up for myself and reported a coworker to the department of civil rights in my state, and now it’s Mean Girls at work.
In a previous job, part of my job was to help people in those kinds of situations. I would do it regardless. I feel it's just the right thing to do if you are able to.
I would help.
I would help them out ,that’s how I work never leave anyone behind

I would definitely help them out because I totally understand where they're coming from. I'm the type of person who would put myself in their shoes. Of course I don't know what their situation is. However on the flip side of that I don't make assumptions. Nor do I make snap judgements or jump to the wrong conclusions about them either
If it's a team help them. People can struggle with a disability of learning quickly, and if they don't know something they shy away from it, instead of asking for help. Have a heart at least try and see what you can do.
I would help them. However, sometimes a person like that doesn't want to work and that's why they're in hot water. I recently was the one struggling because the manager didn't provide the proper training. People tried to help me because they saw what was happening. I was busting my butt
Well after reading many posts I am going to put myself out there for advice. I work at a facility I was agency at and really like the facility so I went on staff. I love working in the memory care building no one attacks anyone we all just do our job and are kind the other building is a nursing home I was warned to be careful working there due to the way the employees treat each other however I thought I know my job well and if I do the right thing what could happen? Well the third night I worked there a resident fell out of bed then later threw himself on the floor the Nursing assistant brought this immediately to my attention I did vitals neuro skin and range of motion check all good put the call light on waited 5 minutes before looking for assistance to help him off the floor. I am suspended for leaving him in danger which I don’t feel I did at all he was safe leaning against his bed and I has assessed him then I put the wrong time I administered a narcotic and when I noticed the Nurse following me gave it three hours later I looked up the time put one line through it wrote error and the correct time now the DON is picking on me for this I have been suspended since Monday while they are investigating it dawned on me the aid left him on the floor twice to get help why isn’t she suspended for leaving him in danger? Neither one of us left him in danger your thoughts please thank you.
