I'm not aware of any companies that pay out holiday time. You don't earn it.

like

That's why you always apply leave to holidays first

like

Just take a few days off during your 2 weeks and book it to holiday - not vacation

like

They buy it out.

Sorry just noticed that said "holiday" and not "vacation". You lose holiday time. Burn it before you leave.

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

I recently sign a lease. The apartment will put my security deposit into an interest-bearing account and requires me to fill out a form W9. I will join EY this June and just wondering if this is ok in terms of the independence rule. I guess the apartment will put my deposit in some sort of funds. Anyone with EY has experience? Reading the independence brochure, looks like it does not specify something related to this scenario but just wanted to confirm . TIA!
