Stupid Question- We have been thinking for IVF and trying to understand with this process, is there any difference in the health and life of the child as compared to a child born without IVF. I make $4000/M after taxes and max 401K and spend about $2400 for all fixed costs (rent, utilities, etc). With roughly $1600 left, and with a strong goal of saving as much as I can, what are some recommendations on how I should allocate my money better. What is a simple way to explain to my boyfriend that investing in equity with an expected return of 10% is better than paying off debt that is growing at a rate of 6%. He has student loans and is adamant that he wants to pay all of them off immediately before saving any retirement money. I understand that many individuals use this strategy but I think investing in index funds for the long haul is better from a wealth accumulation perspective, without even factoring in tax implications of 401k

Alright, fishies, let’s try this again. Name drop boutique firms that have offices in San Francisco Bay Area. Big 4 is not my future (as many many MANY of you have repeatedly said I’m not good enough for). So, I’m taking the hint and crossing MBB and Big 4 off my list but still hoping a smaller firm will consider me.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
