I’m a newly promoted M1 in B4 audit and I’m starting to feel the B4 burnout. Looking to get more information on accounting advisory roles (day to day tasks, hours, salary etc.) to see if this would be a good transition. Any advice or experience would be helpful!

Depending on the advisory practices, you might even feel more burnout

To RSM1’s point, everything about FDD is better than audit IMO, except for the hours and tight deadlines. That part is significantly worse

like

Expect to never feel comfortable in advisory whereas in audit you can go through the motions on recurring clients. Advisory requires your a game almost all the time

smart

I switched to forensics as a M2, great decision to get out of audit

24, thankful to have my bachelors and masters, little debt...1st gen & trying to build my nest egg. However, I just feel so directionless/empty right now, in some ways. Have considered a MD/PhD/MBA...know it’s in the future, but no idea what, when, or where. Just feeling like the days are passing and I’m just doing my best. Any thoughts?

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.
