I’m an SC at Deloitte and moving to banking. I have a couple of offers in hand and want to ask - are job levels at all Canadian banks the same? E.g. is a level 8 at CIBC the same as a level 8 at RBC, TD, BMO? I’m also being offered 15% target bonus for ‘satisfactory’ performance. How does that compare to big 4 ratings? I think it’s different from ‘meets expectations’ because my offer letter says that target bonus is payable for ‘meets expectations’ rating for level 9 & above.

Which one should I go for?

1. Oracle - 18.3 LPA fixed + probable bonus (I may or may not get)
2. Amadeus - 18 fixed + 1.5 variable.

Amadeus is also giving joining bonus of 75k. Amadeus is paying more, may give better hikes too, but I am finding it hard to let go off Oracle's brand name on my resume even if it's means around 2L less over an year. I am planning to work for atleast 3 years in my next company.

What would you have done in my place? Should I go for Oracle or Amadeus?

I hold an offer of 18LPA from KPMG with joining date of 7th September. (Wfh)
I applied at Workday on 15th May and went through 7 technical rounds of interview and received a verbal offer letter of 21LPA (hybrid)
Now apparently their technical panel "forgot" about the interview and wants to have a discussion again as 8th technical interview. HR says their joining date will be 19th September.

looking for advice for my partner who is a data scientist at an ad agency in NYC. Afterward he said he was burnt out to his manager and then was fired a week or so later, even though the project recovered. Is there grounds here for wrongful termination? How does he argue for more severance?

From a financial standpoint in this market, which would be a better approach in Austin -

1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.
