I would take a slightly different perspective. An MBA is good for switching careers, not necessarily making you that much more valuable in consulting. However, I will say that Deloitte has an MBA sponsorship program that should help with the debt. If I’m you, I take the MBA only if sponsored, do two years at Deloitte to pay off the debt, and switch to a job that allows you to be there more for your family; expecting kids means that your presence will be infinitely more valuable than your money.
Yeah that makes a lot of sense how an MBA is more beneficial of switching careers vs enhancing my already established career in consulting. I’ll probably focus on getting it sponsored!

If you're planning to stay at deloitte in the practice you're in, you're better off building your network with firm leaders and clients to ensure long term success rather than MBA.
However, you're not at all too old.
Yeah from what I gather, work experiences > education titles. I think focusing my extra energy on PRD/performing well will get me the experience I need.
It's not necessary. You're already in a great firm that will present you with many career options.
That’s good to know coming from a partner!
What’s your goal? Increase salary?
This is helpful. Yeah it seems like going the route of having Deloitte pay for it is the best bet if I want to take the MBA path. Thank you!

You know your finances better than us. Also are you trying to change your career path from it? There are so many things to consider. Someone I know decided to pursue one while having a second kid otw and it was hard for the wife. If you're willing to help with the new born during your down time, great. If you make everything about your MBA and just want to be a full time student, selfish move.
Yeah that will be tough to work, do MBA, and support my wife with newborns. A lot to consider.
I'd say not worth it the time/energy/money. Those I worked for in industry didn't care too much about MBAs and you're already SC st Deloitte. If you're looking for C suite someday, it might be helpful but know there are quick executive MBA programs that are done in that case too.
That’s a good point. It’s definitely something I can figure out at a later time too. Doesn’t have to be now.
Probably not. I did so I could change fields (education to business). Honestly probably could have done d similar switch without it. Networking is great too. For me the most value will come if/when I can start my own business (that’s my dream). I will way though there is certainly value on learning for the sake of learning (but not 100k debt value plus forgone Deloitte sc salary)…
That’s cool! What area are you looking into if you don’t mind sharing?
Yeah I don’t ever plan to run my own business or anything.
