If you already made manager. Why would you go get your MBA? I don’t know if it would really change much at this point.
Financially, it you are already a manager at MBB, an MBA probably won’t pay off. You are talking $100k for the MBA and $500k in lost income. What’s your MA in and what do you want to do?
If you’ve already got a masters and have MBB caliber exit ops, why not just search for the next job at your dream firm and go from there. No one will care if you got an Ivy League MBA outside of consulting and IB. Yeah you may make connections at school but odds are your connections now are quality enough to help out down the road. If you’re going to pay for the MBA yourself that’s $ not going into a 401K or IRA.
I would like to expand my network in North America beyond my firm/clients + get the MBA experience :)
An MBB EM has stronger odds than most at T7 FT MBA for PE or VC. Perhaps the MBA experience is worth X and the opportunity to go PE VC is Y, I think X + Y can be greater than 500k. Additionally, Y on its own can be worth over 500k. Additionally, could be X or could be Z, OP can find a spouse or life long friends in MBA, which honestly is priceless. Highly highly subjective what your inputs are OP, just remember you only live once and money is fungible.
Yea I wouldn’t do Stanford GSB, only Ivy League!
(Ivy league is undergrad / lay prestige only, not really a thing for MBA)
EMBA/part-time after you leave for industry sounds like the best option if you really want the extra prestige/network. You should be a shoe in at most programs after already hitting M at MBB
