I'm currently a Financial Consulting Director at a large top 10 CPA firm (technical accounting advisory, SEC reporting, IPO readiness etc). I don't want to be a partner, I don't even like accounting that much, I am just really good at it and just kept going with it.
I want to change careers and am really interested in the VC space. My plan is to come into a VC in their operations team and use that as a pivot eventually into real fund work.
Thoughts? Anyone with experience here?

I feel bad for the people who got into supply chain management and are burned out. I feel like they get the short end of the stick, and it truly is not a bad career at all, I think maybe some of them just aren't cut for it.

AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

AWS has prestige but is it worth it?

So I recently graduated in the fall semester from school, and I am now trying to find a entry-level full-time position in my field. I graduated with a BA in Cinema and Television Arts; specifically in Entertainment Media Management. I wasn’t able to do an internship because of work and personal stuff. I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?
