They clearly want you, so go in and be yourself, be confident and most importantly, humble.
Prepare and relax. And at this point in the process it is 99% a chemistry test. They like your work and they are bringing you in. So focus on that. You will do awesome.
I’m in this same exact boat and worried I may spontaneously combust or forget who I am and what I do when I get there. Sending positive vibes your way!🤞✨
They won’t spend resources if they’re not highly interested in you—keep that in mind. Be confident and be yourself. Best of luck!
If it helps, they want to like you at this point.
Yeah dude, be chill, ask thoughtful questions about your role and responsibilities, what you should do in your first six months to be successful in your function, ask about team culture etc etc.
And when it comes to money, ask for 10% more than you would be comfortable asking because at this point, I would bet that the company would be willing to give you 20% more.
AD1 what are some benefits that you regard as a good offer?
Congrats! I did the same thing. I found that prepping beforehand made me relax a ton and enjoy the process of talking to everyone. I revisited my portfolio to remind myself of some work that may be relevant and the vendors I worked with, I refreshed my dream director list and brushed up on the work that’s come out recently, did an Adweek/AgencySpy/Fishbowl search on the place interviewing me, and made a short bulleted list of some of my stronger projects or more difficult experiences so they’d be easy to recall when asked. I also put together a few questions I asked each person interviewing me including what it’s like to live in the new city. Because honestly, you’re interviewing them as well to make sure you’ll be happy there as well. Ultimately I got the offer and accepted and am glad I did. They offered the job less than a week after my last interview and I took two or three days to counter and then we came to an agreement. Also do t forget to research cost of living and moving expenses in the new place. Do not undercut yourself here - and don’t be shy to ask for more if you need more to make it worth it.
Also! Moving expenses are no longer tax deductible. When reviewing your offer, get in deep with the relocation costs and if you’re expected to shoulder the tax burden on the moving costs or if the agency will cover it.
Be you! They already want you. This is a chemistry check to see if you’re a cultural fit.
Knock em alive! They want you!
in my experience, if a company is flying you in for a 3rd, 4th, 5th rd interview...it usually starts or ends with an offer. they want to like you if they’re spending money on you already.
i’ve always found it helpful to not show all your cards. they should feel like they’re your top choice, but that you have other options. it’s also important to know why they’re hiring for this open role, that’s one of the most telling things and can indicate how much leverage you have.
additionally: never ever ever sign an offer letter when they put it in front of you. tell them how excited you are about the role and the company, thank them for the offer, and ask when they need an answer by.
... years at my first job post college. Any tips or words of encouragement would be highly appreciated!!
Be passionate and inspire. You got this!
Headspace has a great pre-interview 10 min session that helped me land the gig under those same circumstances!
