But don’t you think it’s worth it to get into this mindset yourself and have control of your finances? I suggest you start to read some personal finance blogs and YouTube channels. All the info that you want to pay for us out there for your free consumption.

That info is definitely out there. I’ll pay for someone to do that. That’s why I’m asking for the referral out there. It’s not something I want to do myself. I’ve got my basic calculators and am comfortable with my FIRE path. I want a second set of eyes and validation.

Letsmakeaplan.org is a good start, I think something like 30% of CFP designees are in that directory

Just received a survey from EY titled application preferences. I was rejected from a finance staff role a few weeks back after the first round pre recorded interview… this survey asked if I’m still looking for a job, start date, and location and practice preferences. Is this common and is EY still hiring? TIA!

I feel totally blindsided by the interview I just had. I talked informally with Partner 1 before the interview and was told the position would be in one of the firm’s satellite offices. Then, during an interview with Partner 1 and Partner 2, Partner 2 mentioned that I’d have to move to the state where the firm is headquartered because he believes face-time is really important for training/mentoring. I have no plans to move and really hope this wasn’t all a huge waste of time.

I went back to my old job when I lost my job. This was probably more an emotional decision. My old manager and team welcomed me back with open arms. I’ve only been back for a couple of weeks but I’ve realized that I want to pivot into analytics and my current role has limitations in this area. Am I horrible for wanting to leave even though they asked me that I was planning to stick around for more than a few months. Any advice appreciated!

Is getting your CFP worth the investment? I am in my 30s and plan on staying in this industry as an FA until I retire. Lately I’ve been getting asked if I offer any fee-only options and I know you can’t be fee-only unless you’re a CFP... Do we see the industry headed this way?

Amazon FLDP vs Gartner Consulting (post-MBA level). I am worried taking Amazon will close the door for consulting in the future. Amazon comp - 130k base + 80k sign-on bonus (~45k first year, ~35k second year) + 100k RSU (4 year vest). Gartner - 125k base + 15K EOY Bonus + 10k sign-on bonus.
