What is your title? Are you full time?
My technical title it Veterinary Hospital Administrator. I'm in VA Beach. It's a smaller hospital, but I think $40k is suuuper low from what I've been reading. I've only been here for about 9 months, and I was desperate for a job when I got the job. But now that I have realized how underpaid I probably am, I wonder if I should ask for a raise or look elsewhere.
Totally depends on your position and your location. In coastal cities, absolutely you should be able to make 65k. But if you're in the midwest it might be more challenging! Look up specific salary ranges in your area and for your title/YoE.
I'm a Veterinary Hospital Administrator in VA Beach. I've only been in the position for 9 months. I know sometimes people ask for a raise after a year or so. I wonder how much I would be safe asking for at that point?
Yup, I'm sure another hospital will offer a higher salary for you to work with them. Would you consider working at another state, though?
There is a shortage of veterinarians right now and an overall high of pet ownership, so you might be able to ask for 65k and receive it. Although, it may be likely that you ask for that and then negotiate down to a middle mark of around 55k. Good luck!
It depends on a variety of things like your location, years of experience and the size of the clinic but $65k is also possible
Just replied to another thread about this but the National Veterinary Professionals Union might have info on this
