You should get permission (in writing) before booking. It's not worth it to have your expense report rejected and having to pay out of pocket for your tickets.

KPMG would, for sure. If your comfort depends on paying a little extra, I don't see the problem. Esp when the project is worth like $20 million and you're asking for a $20-$30 upgrade (depending on airline).

For those who have worked at companies with Employee Stock Plans, has there ever been a time when you wanted to leave but felt stuck because the stock was doing poorly and you had a lot of money locked into it? I’m feeling like I have to stay until it rebounds or else that’s thousands of dollars lost.
