Parents- how much are you saving for your kids? Married mid 30s and family income is around 200k. We both max employer 401k. Have around 30k debt. Lcol and low mortgage. Would you pay off debt- or focus on kids savings? Oldest kid is 7 years out from college and will have some VA benefits.

Does 125k in Bonvoy points get you much?

Anyone been able to work from Dubai for a UK/US firm and benefit from no taxes? I know if you are a US citizen you pay taxes where you are globally, but if you are British, then you only pay income tax on UK income - so if you live more than half the year abroad you are classed as non-domicile resident, but wanted to hear if anyone’s done this or heard about it?

Parents are deciding between moving to WVirginia vs Virginia at retirement to be closer to us based in fairfax (ideally be at 1 hour driving distance). How do real estate lenders take cash flow into consideration? For example, typically I would probably only be approved for a $500k loan ($125k comp and $100k for down payment), but if I’m buying a multi-family home and planning to live in a unit and rent the others, will lenders approve a bigger loan?

I work at a medical device manufacturing plant as a training coordinator, I have a military background and a degree and am trying to advance but am feeling stuck. I am a literal jack of all trades, and am trying to get out of the hourly life, I’m working an average of 100 hour weeks and have been for at least the last 6 months.

Do I go for a promotion even though I’m being told it isn’t a home run? Is there a backlash/ detriment to declaring for one and not receiving? Would I be wasting folk’s time? This is my first run at a promotion outside the Army.
