CA law may require it be paid if the person quit. But in many cases it is company policy that you must be with firm thru the bonus payout period. In any case, it's a professional norm to wait until you are paid.
Must be employed on the AIP payout date
Cashing out my 340 hours of PTO would be awesome
Nope
EY1 I'm assuming you went through the process and are talking out of experience.. But won't it be illegal to not pay the bonus out since it was accrued in the performance year that ended in june
I just remember that being the reason why everyone stayed through September before leaving. Maybe I'm wrong though. I left after I collected my bonus because of that fear
Agree with D2. You need to be an employee on 9/2 for it to be paid out.
Has anyone here actually quit between July and the AIP pay out date?
Just want to see if anyone experienced this first hand.. It sounds illegal since the performance year ends in June and any thing the firm owes after the year end should be paid out in full regardless of when one quits
I know people that have quit and no they did not get the bonus. I realize you earned it from the year prior but if we have policies that say you must be employed on the pay date then that is the "law".
Try to negotiate into your signing bonus or pay at next job
Thanks for the input, everyone! Unfortunately can't wait for September, so just wanted to make sure I budgeted accordingly.
Everyone is right, no bonus. You can cash out unused pto though.
No
So when would it be paid out fully / when's the earliest quit date?
