Have now worked entirely remote for over a year after having only worked in an office for a few months. It’s my normal and I’m far more productive and available from home than in an office. Anyone know of good companies or law firms that have embraced a permanent remote working model now?? If they’re remote but location dependent, I’m in the Chicago market.
Hi!! Looking for entry level project coordinator job. Whether it's remote or in the Charlotte area. If anyone knows of anything that'd be great. thank you!
How much is good work life balance worth to you in salary? Likewise, how much is work from home worth to you in salary?
Anyone quitting their job and looking for a permanent remote job now that offices office dates have been announced?
Is there any job available for remote Presales with 4 years experience Notice period is 2 week
For those of you who spent a long time in big law (at least 10 years but more along the lines of 15+), when did you know it was time to do something else (maybe in the law, maybe not)? I don’t know if it’s wfh or just the work now, but I’m finding myself getting amazingly frustrated at things that barely bothered me before. I had an argument with opposing counsel last week and was seeing red for hours after that, and little things seem to bother me much much more than they would have before
I have work to do but I’m tired so gonna take a short nap. I’ll finish later and work late if I need to. I won’t miss a deadline, and my team won’t suffer. Good night! This has been an ad for keeping WFH/hybrid going instead of forcing people in 5 days a week.
I could really use insight. I’m a Rockstar in my dept/team. Ask me to take on a new project and I can get it done. I delegate tasks and partner with other lines of business. I am knowledgeable, punctual, communicative and competent. I can learn new skills/programs easily (SQL, Verint Speech Analytics, pivot tables in Excel.) My pain point is summed up: “Overlooked.” I am not a member of mgmt but want to pursue opportunities. How’ve you asked for mentorship? Tips on standing out in WFH setting?
Bain fish, what’s the work from home policy? Do you have to live within a certain distance of your home office?
I've been required to work from the office, but it adds 3 hours of commuting each day and I feel way more exhausted at work. Can I speak to my boss about getting a special privilege to continue to work from home?
Anyone know of part time corporate positions that are remote? Entry level. I have a bachelors in psychology and masters in special education (not super applicable but I am intelligent and willing to learn). Current teacher looking to make a switch. I am very personable and driven.
How is everyone doing with wfh situation? I fell like burning out... More so at home than at work... And then there is love work app?
Hey Jersey folks that work in Manhattan. Is your office talking about reopening soon? Will you have the option to still work from home?
For my folks at Deloitte , which would you choose 1.GPS, 4-5 days in office due to SCIF related work and long commute 2.USDC, wfh 3-5 days and commute would be short if I ever have to go in. Do any USDC positions require a clearance and if not could they hold it? Keep in mind, I don’t have salary information yet And is the Delivery Center that bad? I read a lot of reviews on it here....LOL
shifted my schedule to where I crank things out during 4pm-4am. Am I the only one? During the day I’m in meetings back to back, pings almost every 20 minutes. I really love WFH, I’m never going to be able to do this 🤧😭😢
I see a lot of sentiment on here about consultants struggling to be productive the longer wfh goes because of burnout. Honestly, I don't feel nearly as productive as I was when we were on site working 8-8 with the need to appear productive due to 'optics'. With the burnout from wfh, consultants are starting to be valued less highly by industry?
Do you think post-covid that companies will ever keep their tech employees in NYC? I’m a software engineer for a financial company and already am probably one of the last people to RTO if/when that happens. But now I’m thinking that this situation has proven that they don’t need to take on the costs of having SWEs in a HCOL city if all of us can WFH/work from a LCOL city with same results. Kinda bummed bc I’m a new hire and I never even got to move there... should I lower my expectations?
Ex-bankers at Google: what role are you in?
Hi Everyone! It’s almost the end of the year and I decided that it’s time for a change in my career. I have been working as a business analyst at JNJ, with about 4 years of experience and halfway done with my MBA. I would like to move into a project management role (I have worked on my scrum master certification). I make about 68k a year and I feel like I’m due for a huge pay raise. I have been asking 105k-120k which companies have been open to. Am I asking for the appropriate amount?
As a heads up. If any of you are interviewing at Facebook and were planning to leverage their offer to negotiate at another company, they will recall their emails to you with any offer information as soon as they think it’s a no. I told them I was not interested 2 hours ago because it was an exploding offer (even though I haven’t finished negotiating my other offers), and the email is already gone. Thankfully I took a screenshot as soon as I got it.
I have 45 nights this year at Marriott, what’s the cheapest best way to get the other 5 nights? I have no travel planned but would like to get 50 for plat status. Should I burn points or is there an efficient way to do this?
My go to grab and go at LGA terminal D is a premade chicken salad sandwich. Team member just saw me and couldn’t believe I’d eat that at an airport. Am I crazy or should I keep doing me?
Soo….has anyone embarrassed themselves in front of students? Today I got my foot wrapped up in a kid’s Chromebook charger and bit the dust in the aisle between desks. The good news is that I landed on the best possible body part, so it’s all good. This is second only to the day I ripped my skirt all the way up the back while directing choir…don’t ask.
My company changed my status from non-exempt to exempt, and gave me a yearly raise of 4¢. Is this a joke? Oh and the health care costs are increasing too.
Ladies, have any of you made the jump from big 4 manager to mid-tier firm and not regret it? I feel like my optuons in industry in my city are not ideal and wouldn't offer the same flexibility as PA. At the same time, the culture in my office has become too toxic and don't feel like my contributions matter at all. Also, not to mention the lack of business case.
How do you stay motivated throughout the interview process? Especially in the case of 4-5 interviews.
How does everyone feel about declining to self-identify vs Identifying (race/gender/military status). Better for you or worse? Looking to you HR managers, gatekeepers to our employment opportunities
Hi all! I’m doing some research on parental leave policies to make a case to improve ours. How many weeks does your policy offer? Does it differ between “primary” and “secondary” caregiver? Birth vs other means of growing your family? I’m particularly interested in independent shops, but would love to hear from folks at the network agencies as well. It you could comment with your agency name, I’d be super grateful. Thank you thank you! ❤️
I’m very confused by my retirement options. My work doesn’t offer 401k. I make $160k salary and am single. Am I allowed to contribute to a IRA or Roth IRA? I’m getting conflicting information on this

How easy is it to get an MBA sponsored by Deloitte USI (consulting)? How many people get it every year?
Where would you vacation with a 7 month old? Thinking Oahu or another beach island like Puerto Rico, but concerned about travel, safety, convenience with infant
How would you reconcile leaving an agency where you love your bosses (to the point where leaving would feel more like a friendship break up than moving jobs), but HATE your clients and a lot of your day to day work?
