Thanks K1 🙏🏼
^You got it!
Bookmarking all this great advice for when I get my shit together. Thank you all you smart case study people!
@McK1 - Got it. I'm in round two of case interviews. Just attended a webinar. Super helpful! Can you request to join another webinar session? The recruiter has also scheduled a time with a McK Consultant.
@OP yes. If you want more practice/another webinar let the recruiter know. They will make it happen, no points against
Plus one for Victor Cheng. His audiobook series got me in.
Mck1 - Do you suggest hiring a coach?
No. Not sure where you are in the process but McK is pretty good at providing a lot of case prep during the interview process, including non evaluative practice sessions with McKinsey alumni and webinars on our case practice. Take all the help offered. The goal is really only to have people fail because they don't have the commitment to prep or the problem solving skills, not because they didn't understand what was expected
^ find more McK folks to practice with through your college alumni network
Also, don't overlook the PEI! It's a surprisingly big part of their interview score, so definitely worth a bit of time/thought
There's a program called Look Over My Shoulder by Victor Cheng - walks through cases with candidates, and even has some McK style cases. I suggest listening to that unless any McK folks don't believe it's helpful!
Can't speak to victor cheng, but I will say Mckinsey cases are a little different than many...very interviewer led with a big focus on structure. Less emphasis on creativity and asking questions than many others
Use prep lounge
