Consulting

Interviewing for a director level position in industry. It probably would come with a $60k pay increase - not the main factor for me. What do you look for when shifting to industry from consulting?

I'm also negotiating an offer. I had to get them to up PTO days and throw in free parking.

Stock options. They’ll shell out a lot more in stock just want to make sure the holding period isn’t long. Also stock options will be taxed as capital gains instead of income

What Director level is offering >$250k base pay? Are you sure you’re not mixing up base and TC?

In tech, Director levels routinely get over $300k base. I think people all have a certain fixed mindset on what a title means. In some firms Director is very high level. In others it’s middle. This is middle-high. Not uncommon at all...actually surprised people have different experiences

What industry OP? Where’d you find the opportunity? How long have you been in consulting? I’m considering a switch too!

If anyone wants to join a boutique HR & Talent Advisory consulting firm, Kincentric is hiring for an Associate Partner role! Location doesn’t really matter, but preferably in IL, NY, or ATL.
