Corporate culture is still very DC/Federal, given that is the context our Csuite grew up in. Highly centralized around Csuite, who call the shots, rather than in an LLP model.
Your experience will largely depend on the segment/vertical you’d be in. Some have baggage/history and the culture varies.
Then it also depends if you are an account lead/bringing relationships, or a functional lead. If the latter, we’re very account-driven and that - along with the associated account politics etc - impedes the ability to maximally leverage our capabilities for a client.
Where it once was a model of “build your own business”, the focus growth markets, industries and capabilities have largely been defined for us the last year under Bain Capital. So it’s really a matter of “getting with the program”. That program is tech and PMO that drives big deals and EBITDA. Some people thrive in that, some will struggle. But the goal is to 3x our revenue in the next 3-5 years and get to IPO, so that’s exciting.
The last year under Bain’s ownership has been characterized by lots of focus on operational performance: billing/DSO, utilization, compliance etc.
Comp-wise, new Partner base is low 300s, plus 20-40% bonus depending how the firm does. Then a one-time Class B stock award equivalent to 1.5-2.0x your base - which vests over 5-7 years and may or not be worth something. There should also be the option for you to purchase Class A for a DA Partner.
Overall, the people you’ll interact with on a day-today basis are good. Few egos, generally collaborative. If you are able to succeed in the box drawn for you, then you could be part of building something. You’ll need to negotiate hard however, to see that reflected in your comp.

Recently had many partners promoted but some didn’t take the promotions. Be ready to go into office or client site every single day.
Yes or all 5 at client site. Would ask during your interview how strict or enforceable that will be.
BTW, my title is old. Haven’t updated it, but currently a Director. What service line at GH? Really service line dependent, but do know they are really honing in on sales and hitting the sales goals. May want to get clarification on what expectations are and how first year Partners are supported as they ramp up their book of business.
Some former colleagues who didn't make it here have joined GH as partners - they seem to like it there
@OP - How’d your interview process go? Did you ultimately make the move?
Appreciate the response G2!
