Should junior associates provide partners with holiday gifts?

I see news articles all the time about Big 4 entering the legal market. Has anyone heard of this? I’m curious to see if an attorney providing legal services while working at B4 will make the same as a big law associate. Could this be the end of the huge big law starting salary?

Folks in FDD I need some input. How do you like the work? I have an offer to go into MM FDD senior role or go join a Fintech start up as a credit analyst. Pay is comparable between the 2. The start up seems a bit more of leap of faith after doing due diligence (no pun intended). Joining from B4 audit.

SC brings up another point, do you let your team and supervisors know you are in recovery? I have always lived by the adage I may be the only Big Book anyone sees, so I always let my co-workers and management know I'm in recovery. I'm also a DCM so it helps book time off to go to Area Assemblies.

I have been at my company for a little less than 4 years now. I’ve had the third highest sales last year out of a team of 50 and consistently the highest outbound calls per week. They told me I can start WFH once I hit $1mil in profit, but then rescinded right before I hit the goal. They have also denied simpler request like time off, when I know they have approved this before for others. I feel super unappreciated, but the money is great. I’m not sure if I should look elsewhere and start over?

Ghosted after final interviews at two FAANG companies and it hurts

I am a POC and have enjoyed the diversity of colleagues that I have met in consulting so far. When I look at websites of PE firms, I see primarily white men from Associate all the way to Managing Director level.

Why do you think there are these structural differences? Do PE firms not believe as much in diversity of thoughts/lived experiences?

Do you think that consulting would provide more advancement opportunities than PE does for a POC, given the structural differences?
