Hi Everyone, I've just joined this platform.
I am am tech recruiter by profession and working with a Saas Product start-up called Cialfo. We've been on the lookout for Full Stack Lead (Ruby on Rails and Angular).
I've been advised by a colleague that this is a great platform to look for great folk for the Engineer team.
Let me know if there's anyone in your circle who be interested to look into this.

Almost always easier, IMO. I certainly prefer a candidate to have some firm experience but definitely place a premium on any in-house experience they have. There’s a lot of differences in-house than in a firm and I’d prefer those to be learned in-house on someone else’s dime and time if at all possible.

SC1 — what is considered a crappy in-house job?

That’s a very big it depends. Practice area, years of experience, current company/firm, and desired company play a role in determining this
Thank you for your insight!!
Yes totally in my opinion. Based on personal experience, USA companies prefer the in-house experience over law firms unless you’re a major litigator or lobbyist at government with serious connections , or a famous big law firm partner with major experience trying cases or conducting blockbuster M&A deals
Thank you for the insight!! This is what I was thinking as well and a pay cut to get my foot in the door might be totally invaluable in the long run.
i'm trying to go from inhouse privacy to firm, thoughts?
Chief
I’m also in privacy and considered this when I switched jobs last fall. I interviewed at 2 firms but at the end of the day I prefer the work I get to do in-house over the work I would have done at a firm.
Firms seemed receptive to hiring former in-house privacy counsel so it’s definitely possible.
