Anyone here taken the CFP?
Have my CPA but thinking about becoming a certified financial planner after leaving public accounting. How difficult and time consuming is the exam compared to the CPA? Is it worth it?
I really want to get the CFP asap but I’m torn bc all of my time & energy is currently going into building my practice and I’m only about 16 months in with a relatively long way to go. Continued....
Starting the CFP in January... gonna use a scheduled, 11 month program through dalton. Any advice?
I’m looking for a CFP program that offers asynchronous distance learning with the option to extend for a masters degree.
I keep hearing that the CFP is worth it. What makes it worth it? The knowledge, the credibility, the confidence? All of the above I assume. Do you have prospects seek you out?
I am a CFP(tm) and a 20 year veteran looking to educate and acquire businesses from owners in GA (or the southeast) who want to sell or are looking to get educated on the succession planning process.
*** CFP Prep Materials *** Is anyone interested in purchasing CFP prep materials? I have Dalton study materials including their course books, their review study books as well as their flash cards.
The first CFP is a bunch of bull crap! Georgia over Alabama. All of the Big Ten getting shafted. WHAT GIVES??!!
My paraplanner is wanting to get started with his CFP. It's been a while since anyone in my office has needed to go through a program. Looking for advice, what path should I suggest; Kaplan, Bryant University, Boston CFP, something else I don't know about? Looking for your ideas on what might be best to use as an educational source for the CFP these days?!? Thank you.
has anyone here who is CPA sat for the CFP exam as a challenge candidate? would it be beneficial / make me more marketable if I have a CPA license and have passed the CFP exam? What are job ops like?
Best CFP continuing education providers? Not looking to just get the credits done, but something in depth to relearn things I️ may have forgotten.
The only 5 people who have EVER asked me if I am a CFP... BTW I'm not... have been Millennials and gen-xers looking to start DCAing $250 a month into a Roth. Not 1 person of significant wealth. LOL
Open to exploring my options for going indep. 8 year vet at EJ w/$150m AUM ($90m fee-based), & a CFP. Not unhappy @ EJ but not able to be a true planner. How do I compare all the options?
Risk consulting 🐠, what do you think about the FRM certification? For those that have it, has it helped you on project work and do clients look at it favorably?
Bookies are taking bets on whether Joe Exotic will get Corona or not. The world has gone nuts and the end is near. He is also asking Trump for a pardon. https://nypost.com/2020/04/02/joe-exotic-transferred-to-prison-medical-center-from-coronavirus-i
After attending first day of in service I found out my principal couldn’t get me a classroom downstairs ( I have a knee disability) so had to resign , now district won’t pay me for in service.

When interviewing how explicit/vague do you need to be in explaining work you've done with, or tangential to, the company you're interviewing with?
Thinking it’s time to take a step back in 2021 after reevaluating my priorities. Tired of sacrificing my health and sanity for stupid things. What’s the best move for a strategist looking for a combo of good comp and a solid work/life balance - even if it means boring work or moving out of industry?
US - does any MBB have plans for an office in Indianapolis? Seems like a good base of clients and I’m considering mid-sized cities longer term, but want to stay on consulting path.
I’m bored. Let’s matchmake. Age + gender: Your Profession: Profession you want to date: What are you offering:
Just want to put it out there: if you are a POC interviewing at a low-POC firm (esp in smaller markets), don’t be discouraged or judge on that alone. We are making huge efforts to increase diversity.
How are the exits from Big 4 to SAP consulting? Specifically for those that did SAP implementations at big 4. Looking in terms of pay, WLB, and travel specifically. Any other thoughts welcomed.
Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector. Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting. https://www.propublica.org/article/how-mckinsey-is-making-100-million-and-counting-advising-on-the-governments-bumbling-coronavirus-response
Got my first ever 90 day review this week. What should I expect, and what are some good things to bring up? Overall I'm pretty confident in my performance and happy with my agency and the culture.
I’ve been feeling really down about my job lately. Last night I randomly applied for a job at EY-P that I thought I perfectly fit the bill for. Within 12 hours I was reached out from a recruiter and was asked to schedule an interview. Even if it doesn’t go much farther It feels like the confidence boost I needed to know there are other options out there for me.
Not to get political, genuine question... If disabled recipients of social security have to re-prove their disability every 2 years (under proposed new rules), why not re-do eVerify every 2 years?
Has anyone here used a service to help you find a new job? I’m looking at one where they source and apply for jobs for me. They’ll also help me rework my resume, LinkedIn, and other materials, as well as interview coaching. I’ve been looking for a new position on my own with no luck for the past 6 months. The downside of this service is they charge a commission based on the salary for the job they place you in. Thoughts or advice?
I'm getting sick of my brother that keeps stringing along and hooking up with women, never settling down. He's 45 and gone through 2 divorces already (guess why?) He keeps telling me he wants to find love, then next day he brags about all the women.. the cognitive dissonance man
Do Bonvoy points always expire after 12 months, regardless of what tier you make? Coming off of IHG and those did not expire at EOY.
