I just went through this with D with a 50% increase in base. They countered with a 25% increase and a 25% one time retention bonus (2 year clawback)
Hence my new flair 😂

Bruh just take the offer. There is literally a 0% chance they will match that or be close. Maybe meet you half way. Doesn't look good to management either way since you're scouting the market to leave. I can't believe people on this app actually need verification for this.
You can always give them the opportunity to try, and when you give notice they will likely ask about the new pay in case they can counter, but unless you are grossly underpaid now I think it is unlikely they will be able to get close.

I had a similar offer. Spoiler alert I took McKinsey lol. I wouldn’t recommend wasting time on a salary negotiation. I tried and it didn’t really go in my favor until I was serious about leaving.
Take the offer. Doing the same with Accenture. They all work the same! Just go and if you don’t like the new place come back. Easy

Sorry, I wasn’t clear - I left for an emerging unicorn. I originally posted to say my D leadership basically said they’d give whatever to retain me so I was telling OP if it’s just about the $ in their situation, Deloitte might offer more than 25% of the current base. It wasn’t necessarily the $ for me (although it’s what spurred me to start applying) and then I found my dream role in the process. Definitely agree I was on the fast track but I realized I didn’t want to be a PPMD or stay in client services
