If you are a SWE in big tech then yes
True
I loved it, but its not NYC or SF. Takes about an hour to get into SF on weekends do have activity. Great hiking and quick to Santa Cruz and just over an hour to Monterrey on weekends also.
Jobs are plentiful and a lot easier to get to if hybrid decreases to 2 WFH days.
No, the draw is the jobs and much better weather than SF. We had a pool and swam from late March through November. Used passive solar (black sheets of plastic with tubing) a couple months of the year. WI two hiking was 3 hours, but mountain walks and kites 10 months with no more than hiking pants and a fleece.
But the reason I lived there was jobs. And still more to do than Palo Alto where we lived for a little while and worked.

For tech yes
Yeah that's fair
For housing and real long term - absolutely no
I'm curious why you say that - is it primarily because of the cost? Or something else?
Not for me…
