Is there a polite way to ask people not to be rude to others online... or do I have to just quote the rules of the group?

One of the most polite ways is to say it directly, you cannot be offended by being corrected if you are offending others, if this happens it is best to remove these types of people from your community.

You can detect the type of words that users use to be rude and ban those comments so they will feel that it is something automatic and when they rewrite the comment they will do it better.

It is best to quote the group rules as a good not so direct way of telling a person to improve their behavior, it would be good if you do it quickly before it becomes commonplace in your community.

Communities are like children, you must mediate from time to time and other times you must let them fix their problems themselves, now a lot depends on the type of brand you manage, if you feel that they are moving away from what is appropriate, you must attend to the situation and the best It is showing the regulation even in your post.

It is something that you have to prevent from happening quickly because it is something for which people move away from the communities and it is best to use the regulation so that others see that there is a moderator and do not take the path of rudeness.

Go-to outfit for client meetings?

My colleague is going on maternity leave for 4 months and I was asked to cover some of her projects which are step up in responsibility than what I’m currently operating at. Some peers have suggested I ask for a raise to accommodate this but I’m not sure I agree as I’m only covering her while she’s out? What are others thoughts about this?

Im sure people have seen the anti-Asian violence that’s gone on in the US. I have several colleagues who are Asian American that I’ve been friendly with for many years (in some cases over a decade). I know that at least some are extremely nervous about things right now. Have people in similar situations said anything to their colleagues? I’m not a very sensitive person and am really not good at this type of thing, but I really want them to know we see what’s going on. Any thoughts appreciated.

One of my staff is quitting. I'm secretly so happy because he is really bad at being an auditor. I don't have to answer the same question 8 times a week, re-do all the work he did after 3 rounds of feedback and hours of coaching, and have time to actually get the my own work done.

Left PA and started industry remotely. Haven’t been in the office. Met my team one time. Tips are to always be on video for even the smallest of calls. Take a ridiculous amount of notes. In downtime, go through your notes and come up with questions by reperforming old work. Set up recurring question sessions with your team so you know what to do next time. Set up performance meetings even monthly because it’s hard to get a gauge on your performance

Have you ever been told off by an older attorney of color? We have one Black partner at our firm and in conversation with him this morning he told me I should work on sounding and looking "more professional" and not let my "tone" or "bad attitude" get in the way. I don't think I've ever had a bad attitude at work, and whatever "tone" I'm speaking in it's my normal one. As a Black woman I just feel super weird about it and kind of sad.

When do you think associates are usually let go in small practice groups that are currently being overwhelmed with work? Is it when it starts to slows down or when they already have a candidate to replace you? Just trying to figure out how long I have after annoying a partner 😂.

How often do you respond to emails from law students who want to learn about your firm/practice area? I get like a dozen requests right around OCI every year. Frankly I’m tired of speaking to them and answering the same boring questions, especially if I know they have a low GPA and no chance of summering at my firm, but I do feel bad saying no/ignoring them

I spent the last 3 months "growing up" & now I'm ready to go. 1st thing is for me to get my own place. I'd like to buy instead of rent because I don't want to pay someone else's mortgage.

I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest.

Anything wrong with this thinking or anything else I should consider?

My work office is in philly but i wfh in delaware. Why im i paying for both state taxes as well as philly tax. Is that right or do i need to make some adjustments. Im at PwC currently.
