hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.

I'm 6 months old at D! Planning early promotion next year.. counselor and pm both are backing me.. I need to go to India for at least 4 weeks in Dec ... most probably would be rolling off from current project by then .. would this vacation hurt my promotion chances coz of utilization etc?

At any level above Senior, how do u manage the relationship between utilization and realization, which is an inverse relationship. Seems to be either blow the budget (and write it off), or eat a lot of time.

Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. A partner put me in charge of a specific project that I ran independently. Things were going well. The client began asking me to do more and more, including revamping their system and internal trainings. The client even gave me a litigation matter. Suddenly, the partner became more involved. I was removed from meetings concerning the revamping, my trainings were cancelled, and he started micromanaging. He has now sidelined me from the project and trash talked me to the client. For anyone who receives a quarterly bonus or raise in some form, does your employer start to schedule you for less hours when your raise kicks in, or pull you from a future schedule entirely once you receive a bonus; only to put you back on once the hours you would have worked and earned the amount given are passed? Ie; a part time employee getting $200.00 in a quarterly bonus and then not being scheduled a whole week during a bi-weekly pay period where they would have earned more on the clock…?

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?
