I’ve been pretty conflicted lately about work. I feel valued by my immediate team but not others I work with (remotely). I’ve been told that I have to build the relationship and such but these colleagues don’t answer my emails or chats or only answer after multiple attempts. I don’t think this has ever happened with another woman even those more superior to me. Is there something I can do or someone I can talk to?

That’s a tricky situation. I was put in a position at an e-commerce org of pulling their dev teams into a more agile work methodology. Ensuring everything was being delivered in a timely and agile fashion etc.

When I politely explained to a cross-functional colleague that I did not have enough information about an upcoming program to write a project plan with milestones and deliverables included for her (and when I say I didn’t have enough info, I mean I had zero info and wasn’t ever even given an inkling of awareness that I would be owning this particular project until that day) she stone-walled me from that day forward because I refused to wing a project plan with zero information in day 6 with the company in general.

I was able to build relationships with literally everyone else. But from that day forward she skipped steering and strategy meetings, canceled meetings last minute, would only send needed deliverables and information if escalated on.

It was a nightmare I was glad to be done with when the time came.

When I left ALL other dev teams save hers was on the agile track and producing high quality code in a regular cadence… it was a lesson learned for me.

What SMA you ask? Escalating. Sounds terrible but I requested multiple meetings where there were open spots with an email telling her to let me know what works best. Director BCCed (after discussing with them of course) to monitor any cancellations etc. basically insured there was evidence I was doing everything in my power to have open communication and build relationships/

If an employee mentions something disparaging or accusatory about their manager during an exit interview, how would you handle? What happens if what the employee said is slanderous and a “he said/she said” situation? I.e. employee claimed the manager made a disparaging remark about an item of clothing being worn by someone in accordance with their beliefs. If you opt to share the feedback with the manager, would the manager have a legal case against the company or former employee?

How bad is it for a junior to push back against a completely psychotic mid level? I don’t know how this mid level hasn’t been fired because they are even rude and bossy to partners and are a nightmare for juniors. I have a wee crush on one of the partners in my firm and I thought he liked me too, but neither of us did anything about it (which is entirely appropriate). That was all pre-Rona. Now I’m leaving the firm and pursuing another opportunity and staying in the same city. Since he’ll no longer be my boss, is there a way to find out if my feeling was correct? How should I go about this? (Especially given Rona?)

What can a junior associate do about a mid-level that constantly asks questions about things they were cc’d on, sends dozens of piecemeal emails and is generally just super high strung and needs everything right away?? I’m pretty torn on whether I want to take an offer for an internal role or not…
The job itself sounds pretty interesting. Lots of opportunity for growth (eventually will build out a team).

My only concern is the hiring manager. I talked to someone in my network who has worked with him in the past and she told me that she would 100% work with him again bc she learned a lot, but that he has a very dominant personality and that some ppl can butt heads with him.

Hello All,

I have recently joined
FIS Global around end of April. My mother recently met with an accident and she needs to be operated.
I haven't been able to update the anything regarding the insurance part yet on FIS portal.

Will my mother's treatment be covered under the insurance? If yes, what's the procedure for the same? What are the documents that I need to submit in order to claim the amount?

Can anyone please guide?

I’m going to be a dad! But I have some questions. When should I tell my manager/teams? I’m up for senior promotion this year, will this impact that promotion? For those of you that work in public what tips do you have for managing your work and family responsibilities? For context, my wife, once she’s done with maternity leave, will only work 25-30 hours a week. I know working in public and having a new born is probably going to be a lot to juggle, but I have to make it work.
