I've been told work at big four, get your CPA, then you'll exit to an industry job with less hours and more money. I'm getting lots of interest, but these jobs are below senior level cont'd

You have to be in Audit or Corp tax to get those benefits or job offers. I am in global mobility and in same position as you are and I worried about future because I have no plans to stay in public forever. I have been pushing hard and will be moving to Corp international tax group at end of year.

like

Also, a lot of companies are just looking for the Big 4 experience. They’re willing to develop you for a role that doesn’t mirror you duties in mobility

like

OP, nope!

For less money. For background, I work in global mobility (yeah specialized af), in a high cost of living area, I'm a senior with four busy seasons, three at big four. Where are these jobs? Do I really need to settle for a staff accountant position?

I don't know if I could do another busy season even if it is corporate tax. I'm so burnt out.

I left global mobility and went to industry. I’m still in tax but a different function

In a high COL area, I’d think there are large companies that have a global mobility group. You might need to target specific companies that will have the position you’re looking for instead of just looking at what recruiters post

@SA1 did you have to take a pay cut?

PWC1 I agree there are some roles but limited and pay is not that good, I am not trying to discourage OP from looking but saying based on personal experience. As for SA1, I agree with you that we can get a job but the issue is they are not willing to pay good salary and then retrain. As for me, I am not burned out so will change groups and then will move to industry down the road in few years with a manager title.

SA1 living the dream

Hey guys! Currently in WM ops at Morgan Stanley for the past 1 year dealing with alternative lending, I’m super underpaid with 3 years of experience which is very frustrating. (73k). Have been at Morgan for 1 year and looking to come over to JPM for an ideal pay bump, but would like to get into IB type roll. Any insight on what I should expect or how to go about applying? Maybe even getting referred? I have a deep knowledge of investments and always felt inclined to go down this route.

I am looking to leave my current position due to not having the opportunity to run campaigns and earn experience.
However, every interview I get asked about the campaigns that I have run.
This is starting to feel like a closed loop. Any ideas are appreciated.

I do create some personal campaigns and do social media content on LinkedIn for my personal profile. That is why I get a high number of interviews but I stumble at the starting line.

What can I say to recruiters that will WOW them or replace the fact I have no degree because that’s what most of these company’s require.

Hi fishes,
I am currently working as a Data Science Analyst in Amex and would like to make a switch to Fraud detection/Credit risk modelling in future.(not in a hurry but would like to start preparing for the same)
How should I go about preparing for it? Is MBA the only course?
My current tech stack is Python, Pyspark, Hive, SQL, ML, DL(specifically NLP based). I have already done MS in CS from IIT Kgp.
I am confused mainly cause the tech stack requirement is similar to my role in the company.

Do we have any generic certification policy at HCL for upskilling.

Not talking about project specific or where RM needs to approve, as this tech (cloud) is something I want to learn, not part of my day to day work.

I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.
