Does anybody have any reviews for this company for the s/w department?

Sounds like you're not giving yourself enough credit! If you have a lot of transferable skills, you'll probably be able to qualify for higher than an entry level role. I'd say OTE for an entry level sales job is somewhere between $55-70K annually. $40k base typically or somewhere around there.
I think if you're organized yourself, you don't really have to worry about the tools you get from your company. My first job was a 30k base, not very high. But because I was able to keep everything organized, I made 67k my first year with commission.
Hmm, that's interesting. If I worked in direct sales for 6-7 years, what kind of position do you think I would be able to apply for? That compensation sounds pretty good to me because it is consistent -- that's one thing that I've struggled with working in DS.
Have you considered getting a career coach or mentor? I think you will be able to address your concern with the help of a coach/mentor.
