I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

I left Big Four to a smaller PA firm before getting Senior promo. For the lateral move, my salary went up 12% and bonuses are double the PwC standard (yes they’re paying bonuses during COVID). Plus they pay OT with no cap. Don’t drink the Big Four Kool Aid and think that if you leave before X years you’re doomed. It’s all nonsense designed to keep people fearful & stay in place

Yes it is, SM1 – I found a hidden gem. The founding partner is a super cool guy and he’s ex Arthur Andersen. Multiple Managers & higher are from Big Four too. This firm & PwC actually share a client
I’m in the same boat. don’t have a cpa yet, but honestly don’t think I wanna keep pursuing accounting. just because everyone tells you you won’t get far without enough experience at big4, doesn’t mean it’s true. sounds like you wanna find a new job, that’s what I’m doing
I was on the same boat. And every year it never got better. It become harder and harder to complete CPA. I ended up passing 2 and eventually they expired. So I feel I need to leave in order to get the CPA.
It’s not normalized. You’re working in public accounting at one the most competitive firms in the world. Just switch to a smaller firm, that’s a totally okay and probably healthy choice!
