Thought I'd share another leadership opportunity, this time for industry leaders in the Tech & Digital sector. Would love to connect with anyone who is a senior leader (MD / SVP) with deep experience in this sector alongside leadership experience in a TA / Growth or Client Relationship environment. Amazing opportunity to further establish and grow our presence with global leaders in Tech.

Coast Guard recruit training lasts around eight weeks, while their officer school lasts twice as long. You should definitely try applying for OCS if you feel up for the challenge.
Yes, from a college grad who enlisted, commission…
The officer cadet school is definitely the better route. You wouldn’t be able to transition until you acquired the rank of E5. Not to mention the pay is a lot better than regular enlisted.
Yes, getting selected as an Officer is harder and the process most likely longer as there are far less officers than enlisted. However, if you have grades and meet the requirements to apply to become an officer, it is in your best interest.
Ask to speak with the specific officer recruiter. If the enlisted recruiter does both officer and enlisted recruiting then ask to speak to the first officer in charge. Know the requirements and see if you meet them or not. CMDTINST M1000.3
Yes, I would do it. No doubt about it!
If you’ve already graduated and trying to join look into direct commission programs where you can fill vacancies and come into a specialty.
Go for it! That's would be the right track for you! You should talk directly to the recruiter so that you can ask more questions.
I don't. But I think the officer route is great. You can ask for the requirements first. Best of luck!
The juice is worth the squeeze.
1. Lead sailors. Be the LT that you wished you had
2. Skills and responsibilities are better. Translatable to civ world
3. Network is your net worth.
4. Pay is better. Which will later translate better into the civilian world compared to transitioning as enlisted.
