Just had an interview with Facebook this Friday - the recruiter asked “tell me about how you handle trade offs and compromises”. Felt like this was a poorly worded question, but focused on talking about understanding what really matters to both parties and focusing on reaching a solution that brings the maximum positive impact and solving for any negatives in an alternate way if possible. How would you answer?

I have gotten a verbal offer from Facebook, but I just had my phone screen interview with the hiring manager at Amazon yesterday. I want to reach out to the recruiter at Amazon and let them know what the timeline looks like. I would much rather have the Amazon job over the Facebook one. But I’m afraid if I decline Facebook then Amazon won’t happen. I’m just completely lost.

Feeling stuck — Amazon finally got back to me and moving to loop interviews. However, already sitting on two offers and wondering if I should take the gamble and lose the birds in hand for this one in the bush.

Hello Folks, Due to very toxic environment I had put down paper w/o having any offer. Fortunately, within 2 weeks of NP I cleared interviews for almost 4-5 organisations. All HR, had said that in last month of NP they'll release an offer, just so that I won't have a counter offer. Now, almost 2 weeks are left for NP to end, and surprisingly all of them are ignoring my mails, calls and texts. Please suggest. I'm losing patience as I was looking for switch since April 2022. @

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

How can I get over this feeling? I'm over the whole "stand in the line of fire to prove how good I am" bs. Any recommendations for getting over this or possible industries to pivot into to avoid bs interview processes and ghosting?

Expecting an offer this week or early next week, but want to know when you start negotiating the salary? When you receive the call from the company or wait until receiving the formal offer letter? And how should the negotiation start? Through phone calls or emails? Didn’t use recruiter for this position, so I don’t know what is the process here.

Looking through big 4 transparency salaries… does Baker Tilly just have awful pay for tax or is it just too small of a sample? Why do they pay 10-25% lower than all other firms?

I’ve heard people say that despite having a legal degree that pay between CPA’s and lawyers evens out at manager level. Is there any truth to this?

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?

I am financially secure (husband now has a high earning job) and looking at what options for "moon shots" at chances of real wealth generation with my years in Big 4 (10+).
