Laid off in January and have had 0 luck landing a new role. I’ve applied to approx 35 in house jobs (one interview, made it to the final round, didn’t get it simply because other candidate had more YOE) and the lateral market seems weak for my practice area (trademarks), especially as a junior. I’m not willing to remain unemployed and blow through my emergency savings just to stay in the legal profession…any thoughts on non legal jobs I should consider at this point? Any advice is appreciated.

Received my first prenatal massage at 19 weeks today and the therapist was trained and did a bit of myofascial stretching techniques. Never touched my stomach. Just lower back, arms, legs and feet. I'm a younger plaintiff's side attorney (31). Does anyone else feel like white attorneys give you a particularly harder time? Have you ever been told off by an older attorney of color? We have one Black partner at our firm and in conversation with him this morning he told me I should work on sounding and looking "more professional" and not let my "tone" or "bad attitude" get in the way.
