How many times have you been laid off in your career? How have you bounced back each time?
After getting laid off 2 weeks ago, I fired off about 20 resumes to different places. I have not received any feedback at all. Any ideas how to get past the computer and in front of someone?
Has anyone come back from being put on a PiP? My colleague just got one and is freaking out - her manager is overallocated like crazy, the other two media planners were laid off, and she’s the only one left standing. Her boss says she’s making too many mistakes - but they’re so short staffed. Any hope, or should she start looking now?
If you have a few co-workers as friends on FB, and post your political preference for the election, can you get fired / let go? I didn't discuss with anyone, just posted a couple obvious links.
Fired from big law and still unemployed 8 months out. I’m a mid level transactional associate. Is my legal career over?
Is it wrong that I like when people leave or get fired? Not like I get joy from misfortune but I love the drama and scoop
Well fuck. I got laid off. Just when you think you’re in the clear, 2020 brings the pain. Guess it’s true that the big title comes with a big target.
Hello CGI folks ..I have got selected in Capgemini...All I am getting to hear is that chances of being laid off are quite high in CGI..So, I am confuséd whether I should join or stay back in my current company...please advise

What circumstances have to apply for you to get fired on the spot for getting a job with another big four firm?
My coworker, a senior copywriter, was just laid off. They've got tons of experience. I've seen them churn out 5 individual scripts in an hour. Any leads I can throw their way?
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?

Curious question fam - I'm 23 and earn ~70k. At what age will I get to six figures, if I'm not fired and move up at an average pace in consulting?
Anybody get laid off in NYC? Can't imagine losing my job and being forced to pay this ridiculous rent
Turned in my resignation today and it felt great. To the fish out there that are still searching - lots of love and luck. And if you can, try to stick it out without getting fired for a job (cont'd)
I’ve been off my last billable project for about a month, but my firm has had me putting in full days to work on important internal initiatives and business development that are being taken very seriously, and that include deadlines, etc. very similar to the work I’d do while on a project. Is it likely I’ll be laid off if this continues for another couple of months? How long do you think my firm might let me stay employed like this if they continue to have this much non-billable work for me?
A consultant on my team went to the partner to complain about me as he disagreed with his performance evaluation on the project. Partner is questioning my leadership style now- how can I fix this?

As more firms move towards greater transparency around performance and salary calculations, why does EY continue to keep the ‘salary bands’ completely hidden from employees?
In search of advice here: I have a hybrid background in design and management. I have an opportunity to join a team as a designer and am also getting traction on an application for account management. I feel comfortable and excited doing both. How can I decide on which avenue to take? Which is better for long term growth and $$? Both options are roughly same salary. One is fully WFH one is temp WFH with 2-3day in office. As a designer I know there will be more challenges.

(Cross posted in in-house bowl) Company approved me hiring my first (non-lawyer) direct report! Excited to cross this off my professional bucket list but I know hiring is the tip of the iceberg. What books, articles, general pro tips, etc. do you all recommend for "being a good boss" advice, esp. geared toward a first time boss?
I received an offer from KPMG recently and filled out the office transfer form. Got a call with the news and a “congrats” email from the recruiter. I saw that my status for the original advisory position that wasn’t location based changed to “not under consideration,” however. What does this mean? I’m pretty confused lol
Rather than bland LinkedIn messages talking about "competitive compensation" and "great work-life balance", I wish CPA firms advertised their jobs more like this
What were all yalls post-MBA salaries? What do you think the salary floor should be to make it worthwhile? HCOL city
How difficult to switch from big4 digital groups to MBB? Is the work significantly different?
It's been 3 years and my boss still spells my name incorrectly in emails. She's a friendly boss, so at this point I'm just not going to correct her.
Can you still negotiate an offer even if you said ok to their salary range during the initial HR/recruiter call? Let’s say they said the salary will be around 85k and you said okay to that initially - can you still negotiate that to 90k when you get an offer?
Hi ladies, would love your suggestions on this. How do you successfully network after joining a new company and are 100% remote (for now) ? Joining Deloitte HC, but would like input from others. TIA!
