Curious is anybody seeing layoffs in consulting? How busy are your cyber practices?

I heard from my head that there is a lot of slowdown in VW Germany... There is Hiring freeze, level freeze and all ... And soon that will spillover to india. So be prepared for very less hikes in coming cycle :( Also automotive sector in general is struggling with tesla laying off 10% workforce recently. Maybe time to make a move? What do you say fishes?

I work on a consulting team at a large software company. I’m a job hopper, around 2 years each at my first and second jobs and a little over a year at this job. I recently found out they’re shutting my team down. We’re not fired, but they’re transferring us to the core implementation team, which has a horrible reputation for malignancy, overworking, and isn’t at all what I was hired to do. How hard is it going to be to for me to find a new job? Should I just stay and try things out? What next?

Anyone else tired of having to work so hard to get where you are, only to realize you will be the first one laid off because you aren’t in the “sorority.” Watching it happen is filling me with anxiety

With a recession around the corner - two questions:

Assessing whether I’m being compensated fairly after being passed over for pay raise request. Every BD in the US got a raise. 5 years of experience as a BD. I am now the only person managing BD for the whole of Canada for several service lines. US based finance related company. I report to one manager & the CEO. No commission, just salary and bonus. Tax senior with CPA at small firm. Best way to get to Big 4 audit? (LA or OC) Went to non-target so little to no alumni at B4. I don’t mind the switch to a lower title since audit was always my preference and was never a fan of tax (stayed local for family).
