Looking for new NYC friends/folks to connect with. Hoping to relocate to NYC hopefully by late summer. I’m a mid level strategist. Just trying to be break free from my southern (somewhat) hometown and get back to NYC (place of birth) but where I really identify as home and can “find my folks.”

I've been seeing my therapist for 5+ years for eating disorder treatment and we've been through so much together, but I don't think she's able to help me anymore. While I've stopped my ED behaviors, they've evolved into OCD, and I'm finding that her methods might be making it worse. I think I want to try an OCD expert instead. But I don't know how to end the relationship. Do I just stop going? Do I explain myself? I don't know what to do 🥺

Four years out of rehab today. Mostly sober since I “graduated”. Sometimes I want to act out and be caught, so I can be punished…because I don’t believe I was punished enough or suffered enough (divorce, losing a house, suicidal thoughts aren’t punishment enough apparently). In a meeting tonight a couple shares brought me right back to when I hit rock bottom, to the pain that I inflicted on others and myself. I need to remind myself every day that I am worthy of love and recovery.

I went from agency to in house PR 1.5 years ago (I’m at a prof services firm in nyc). There are no boundaries for communication; everyone is expected to answer emails immediately at all hours and senior people respond in minutes between about 7am-11pm, at minimum. Is this normal in the corporate, non agency world? Not sure if this is just due to the pandemic and WFH, but I was under the impression that in house life would be more chill.
