You’re trying to negotiate after the contract was signed?
Good luck. Sucks to be on the wrong side of market timing but you signed the deal knowing the terms. It sounds like you’ve got a good lawyer to advise so hopefully you don’t end up getting sued for breach of contract. I live in a new build neighborhood and have seen a few folks end up on the losing end of a nasty fight like this

You know about 10% of the story. So hold the judgment heh ?
Without having all the facts it’s difficult to say. It sounds like you’re trying to rescind contract because the builder is refusing to lower the price AFTER you’ve already signed a contract and agreed upon price? It’s not really fair to say they are being “difficult” and not “playing ball”, they are under no obligation to negotiate or reduce prices because y’all have already agreed on a price and signed a contract to that effect. Why would they? Why do you think they are obligated to do so? What if the tables were turned; how would you feel and react if they came to you trying to raise prices after a contract had been signed? Those are just some questions to consider, after all, I don’t have all the facts, but it sounds a bit unreasonable.
