I feel you so much! My colleague just did the same. I also just had a miscarriage last month. It was super hard for me to be happy for him. But then we had a 1 on 1 and I casually said congrats again. And he started talking about his long journey with fertility and so happy they are after 10 long years. My heart softened. I feel a little less bitter but still really sad for myself.
I totally hear this. Actually think its easier to assume they had a fertility journey, but considering they have another 2 year old at home find that storyline unlikely. But to help me with my empathy going to convince myself that they might have gone through their own struggles. Thank you for this perspective.

I totally get this. Also had a miscarriage last year and it’s hard to hear pregnancy stories.
Although you never know about anyone’s situation. My friend has 3 kids (8, 5 and 2) and everyone assumes she’s super fertile. They don’t know that she and her husband always wanted a big family with 4 kids. They started their fertility journey 10 years ago trying for their first. After each kid was born, she almost immediately started fertility treatments again. She’s had countless IUIs, 4 IVF retrievals, I dunno how many embryo transfers, 2 miscarriages and 3 chemical pregnancies. They finally just gave up on having a fourth after this has taken too much of a toll on her.
Thank you for this, you're absolutely right. You never know somebodys situation.
