Many act like non-consulting MBB roles are basically career suicide. I get that within each firm, these roles don't get the same respect, but do hiring managers outside of the consulting world actually know MBB intimately enough to know the difference between business analyst and knowledge analyst, or can you spin your way into good exit opportunities if you're enterprising and leverage your brand association?

Basically, are the exit opportunities still worth it if you're creative about it?

I'm the hiring mgr for designers in my org. I recently discovered pay band information given to me by the HR generalist I'm working with on hiring was outdated and updated bands had been released over the summer (prior to my hire date). The outdated information had led me to believe a prime candidate was out of range. Aside from incompetence, can anyone think of a reason why HR might have withheld information about the pay bands? I assume mgrs see the full monty when it comes to pay...right?

Based in the Bay Area and have 3.5 yr exp in IT Audit mostly SOX with a little SOC exp (ex big 4, couple of regionals) and have been applying to industry (mostly tech companies) since May. made it to final interviews only to find out hiring freezes were in effect or they went with a LCOL candidate.Would like to exit to a GRC role or a mixed role thats 50% sox, 50% varied projects, or a SOX role if the team culture is good. No luck getting in non sox work at current firm.
