I am so thankful that I do not have to job hunt again. I plan to retire in my current district. Job hunting is very stressful. Wishing those who are looking for work good luck.
I started applying back in April. Reworked my resume, the app questions, cover letter, had great references--everything. Applied to 16 positions around the city in 9 different districts. (EL teacher with 15+ years experience K-12, master's +15).
Made it to round 2 district group interview-1 (tanked it, just ugh), references emailed but no direct contact and postings still up through June(4 districts, several posting in each), zoom interview with mini-lesson for 1, nothing from the rest.
I just accepted a position on Tuesday that I applied for last Wednesday night last minute that wasn't counted in the original 16.
It was the most demoralizing thing I voluntarily did to myself in a long time. It made me question whether I'm a good teacher, that I've worked to gain new skills that would transfer and be useful at any level.
1 out of 10, do not recommend.
Will not go through this again. If this new position doesn't work, I'm done and out.
I’ve been not so seriously looking for a new job. I would love to move into a better school district, but I’m not actively stressing out about it. However, I don’t enjoy the whole job searching process in anyway.
