Job has up to 80% travel PwC
How is typically life for these positions requiring travel? This is for a SWE position.
Currently work with clients is remote as stated by the recruiter. If work is currently feasible through virtual means, will there be flexibility to choose to travel for this position?
I have an offer with PWC and have a family. I would prefer to be with my family.

I am a father of a 7 year old boy in 2nd grade. The media sensationalizes and markets all stories to make you fear what’s right in your back yard. You can’t live life this way. Uvalde was horrific, but many things could have been done to avoid such tragedy, of which many schools are learning from and taking action to prevent.
Think positively and go forward with good intention. Don’t fear tomorrow.
Depending on how strongly you feel, talk to the schools and learn about their safety plans.
Regarding parades, I am very near where the Waukesha parade massacre happened. Know a few people who were directly impacted. Even some children at my sons school were hit.
My point is, you never know where tragedy can hit and we have no control no matter how much we wish we did or think we do. Something else is always at the helm.
Kindergarten is challenging enough and then to have safety concern is tough. I also did have similar fears though my son is younger (majorly because we lost my nephew in car accident) and therapy really helped me (it's not perfect, but it helped me tide over some difficult times). Sorry you are going through this. Sending you strength.
