I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Confession: The only in-law that I had a great relationship with passed away unexpectedly. The two remaining in-laws were on thin ice with me prior due to years of drama, nagging, and disgusting display of wealth. I believe their demand of money and general assholish behavior drove in law to his death. I love my S.O. but I can’t deal with the drama anymore.

I love iPhones but I hate just about every other Apple product. I hate Macs and the AirPods are terrible and can’t stay on. Im just bummed that I’m sucked into their ecosystem and can’t deal with no having things sync. Goddamn! The Macs are just such terrible machines. Regret buying one!

Just found out that my favorite aunt, who claimed I was her “favorite” niece, chose to leave all her valuables to her other two nieces who never visited or called her once in the last ten years. My aunt passed away suffering from cancer last year and didn’t have her own kids. I was there by her side throughout her battle. I still wish I had done more, made her life easier. I probably sound petty, but a part of me is forcing me to re-evaluate every interaction I ever had with her.

I have a new direct report who’s at producer level and needs a lot of hand holding. I’ve been her manager for 6 months and she has yet to do anything without me telling her. Like at the start of a project she doesn’t immediately meet w creatives, work on costs/budget etc. She’s self described as ‘shy’ but doesn’t take initiative. She needs help responding to emails. I’m just not sure she has IT. Suggestions on how to support her but also help her grow welcome!
