I am about to receive an offer from EY GDS for a role of a Business Analyst_Banking finance (Principal Consultant) with a CTC of 27 LPA (inclusive of 10% variable).

I am having 10.5 YOE. Is this grade relevant which they have offered, taking my YoE into account? How much i can negotiate upto in CTC front? I mean the highest slab of Principal consultant?

I’ve noticed on Glassdoor, salaries for my level (Director) are higher than my base but have similar bonus opportunity. At what level of pay gap would you push or make a stink? In hindsight I should have pushed more during the hiring process. At 160k base now, seeing ranges in the 170s to low 180s. These are specific to my current company.

What is the benefit of investing in mutual funds such as VTSAX over a similar ETF other than reoccurring investments that allow you to set it and forget it? Is that why people choose them?

How are stock/ETF/mutual fund sales taxed? If the security overall is up by 10%, but I’ve bought in fractions over time (vs all units in one purchase), will the capital gains be taxed on the current net profit? If not, how is it calculated? Would love to get a ELI5 version of an explanation, if possible. Apologies if this is dumb question!

Is it a good idea to trade indexes like VTI and SPY short term? My logic is in the long term indexes will go up so even if I buy high, I can just hold for the long term.
