Need some thoughts. Received an offer from a well established company as a manager role doing HR analytics, and accepted the offer a week ago. A day ago received another offer from pwc. The salaries are the same, except I receive more vacation from the other company. Today I received an increase in the pwc offer (base rate) and I’m unsure what to do. Apart of me feels it isn’t right for me to entertain another offer when I just accepted one…What do you guys think? Thoughts on HR consulting @pwc?

If the comp is very close, you’re in the best position possible. Forget about the cash and package for a second, and listen to your gut. Which company and opportunity seems more enticing to you? Which place seems to have people that you jive more with?

A friend once advised me to flip a coin when making a hard life decision. If you feel an instant sting of regret on the result of the coin flip, then it means you should go with the losing side of the coin. It’s advice that’s served me well in my personal AND professional life.

Good luck! ❤️

Great advice!

The recruiter in me would tell you not to play around with another offer… but the human in me tells you to choose what’s right and what feels like the good move :)

Def go w the other offer if that’s what your leaning towards. You have no obligation to the other company and have to choose what’s best for you.

PwC here - I can’t speak to your offer, but I will say I’ve been happy with my vacation accrual and my team. If been with the firm for a little over 6 years and new to my HR team for 2. I’ve found it to be a really supportive team.. not sure if that helps your decision at all, but just a little insight from the other side!

Going back to in-person learning has been quite a challenge. We have 4 in-person and 8 virtual. The 4 in-person have done as well as to be expected, however their behaviors have been less than desired. One is being considered for going back to virtual due to behaviors. It's next to impossible to expect them to keep masks on and when they do, they're usually nasty or wet. I have PPEs but things do happen in the spur of the moment and it's hard to stop and put on gloves and such.

New/pivoting into HR! 👋 Currently working as a TA Coord with a little entry level work in HR Ops prior to this. Is there a SHRM link, reliable test, or method of shadowing the various parts of HR that will provide a sample of the work, thinking, and day to day experience of each group? I didn’t go to school for HR and therefore haven’t had the opportunity to sample HR Ops. vs. TA vs. Comp vs. Benefits vs. Payroll, etc. I know work experience is the best barometer, but what can supplement this?

Pretty sure the saga of the slave driven company has come to an end I’m the only HR person at this company. Friday I had full admin rights, and went to check email Saturday; account locked. All because I couldn’t solve 8 months of payroll issues in a day. 🫠 Good riddance, I’m getting a lawyer.
