New joiner at deloitte and trying to move my preclvious company’s 401k to vanguard as I open up a new one here. Should I do 401k before tax contribution or 401k roth? If I do 401k roth, can i move my previous funds from fidelity traditional 401k to roth? Any recommendation?

Lot of mixed here. Are you trying to roll previous employer 401k to new employer?

I see this as a preferred option do avoid future pro rata issues if you want to backdoor a Roth IRA. Your new provider will know what to do with the funds being transferred by the box you check (e.g., rollover traditional 401k).

You can do Roth with Deloitte, but it’s a question of whether your future tax bracket will be higher or lower. If lower, do traditional.

Based on the Gross salary offered I have calculated the in hand salary per month would be around 152000 considering 150000 in 80C, 50000 in NPS and 200000 deductions due to home loan interest. Total tax liability is around 400000. Any other options do I have to save tax further (other than HRA, LTA)? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have a final panel interview coming up for a Strategic Product Consultant role at Procore (Construction SaaS). It’ll be 3 separate interviews, 30 minute each with a Team Lead, a Senior Consultant, and a Customer Success Manager.

I’m currently a PM for a General Contractor looking to pivot into tech.

Looking for advice to prepare for these final rounds of interview. Thanks!

Hi All. Looking for thoughts on vertical expertise and whether it’s just a good sales tool or whether anyone has considered structuring the company in this format because it drives stronger work? I’ve always been fairly anti vertical because I think it stifles ideas and thinking, but you can always have people that specialize that you pull in when having bespoke industry knowledge can help. What do others think? Do clients want this from their partners?

Home reno financing question. Have a big project coming up in the $120-150k range. Funding sources are:
- 90k from a heloc around prime
- 10k from a credit card that offers promo checks at 2-3% for 12-18 months
- 375k in a brokerage
- 5-6k per month cash that I can put towards the project, loans, or brokerage

I don't want to stop funding the brokerage because my FIRE plan is less numbers based than "hoard like dragon until it's enough" but maybe I should... How would you optimize?
