PwC A recruiter from PWC reached out to me to ask if I’d consider a different office the one I applied to, since it’s full. It would be Boston, Hartford, Chicago, Minneapolis, Little Rock, Denver, San Francisco or San Jose. MSA candidate. Is there a fully remote option? Do you have to be in the office all the time? Is the compensation high at PWC? Is there a possible moving expenses? Any insight or advice would help me make a decision. Thank you!

Median wages have barely crept up / stayed relatively flat compared to decades ago. There have been productivity gains for the average worker, so we’re producing more now than ever before at any point in human history, but those increases in production have yielded benefits / been accumulated by the top 1%, leading to an exacerbated inequality problem.
If there is someone just as qualified willing to do the work for less money, then why wouldn't supply be the issue?Would you pay more for services when someone is offering you the same service for less money?
Not many jobs you can start at 52k (high COL) as a staff 1 and 10 years later be at 200k. I have a different perspective than most I suspect - my starting offer was more than my parents current salaries combined. I was happy as a clam. :-)
D2 for real... and this person is not a CPA? Negates them from 10 years in tax or audit - must be consulting
$45k in 2004 starting at PwC advisory. Making $245k now + $30k PBB (when that was a thing). You get paid what you are worth over time...not worth much as an unknown talent coming out of school
Senior manager in Texas
I’m starting at 66k. I thought it was gonna be 50-55k, so you can imagine how excited I was.
Mine was 53,500 in 2018
42k in 2000 as a Staff plus OT. Although the OT went away in 2001/2002.
I started at $52k in Jan 2015 after 2 years interning for the regional firm
PwC Assurance Associates started at $43 in 2004, 47 in 2005, $48.5 in 2006, $49.5 in 2007.
As you can see the increases varies greatly.
Don’t forget 2008 and 2009 no increases. Pay is based on market not COLA or anything else.
You’re free to quit and make more someplace else?
