OT: Not a salary negotiation, per se, but I recently applied for a job, got thru the 2nd round interview, and was passed over via mass email.

Now I see that they took the job posting down, but re-posted it to look like it wasn't 30+ days old.

If they can't find someone, why would they decline so many when they need to fill this urgently.

*The "Manager" doing the 2nd interview was the direct report. She was disinterested to say the least.*

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive. Im currently going through industry change.
Im a pastry cook with 4yrs experience and the average salary start for this position is now at $22/hr here in vegas, especially in the strip. But cooking/baking is not my passion. So im changing into veterinary medicine and im seeing that the starting rate for a vet tech is around $16-18. Why is that?? Why are people in the vet med industry being paid so low?? Something needs to change. Labor of love aint enough for the people in this job.
