Planning to hire a pick up service/driver for kid from school..
Any ideas on how the insurance and liability should work? Do I need to check for anything.

Why not hire a baby sitter type from care.com? We did that and made sure the babysitter had insurance and a clean record.

We are doing something similar.. hiring a pick up person who will care for baby for 2-4 hours. Not off the care.com though.
Just wondering if something happens to her car or an accident happens while baby is in the car.. do I need to be prepared for some liability or insurance matters

Most commercial drivers take out additional policies. Hard to ask a caregiver do that but they may be willing to if you help them cover the cost (higher wage etc). I would look at their auto insurance coverages also. Good luck

There’s a service called Zum that’s like Uber but designed for this very purpose. Drivers are fully vetted and you will have a small pool that will know you and do your pick ups. Otherwise check with your insurance company to see what options you have

Hi everyone! I am working with my HR to improve our maternity/paternity leave policy. Currently I only get 2 weeks fully paid and then an additional 8-12 weeks at 60% pay (short term disability). I need some examples of companies with less than 100 employees and what your maternity/paternity policy is. Please include company name! Thanks!!!

I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.

I have been invited to move up to the junior partner level in my mid-sized insurance defense/medical malpractice defense firm, but the terms essentially make me an independent contractor. What does your firm's junior partner track look like? I have been offered 50% of all income brought in, but I have to deal with my own insurance, pay all my own benefits, and handle my own insurance. Is this normal?

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

We were not trying to conceive. And I was drinking alcohol like twice a week.
Now I missed my period and pregnant. I am panicking a lot, not sure if I want a baby right now. Definitely i cant deal with pregnancy constantly knowing how much u drinking could have affected the fetus and if i could ever endure the consequences it would bring upon the baby
Help me understand if my baby will be fine or not.

Planning on buying a house with MIL. She would lend us half the price of home interest free in return for being able to live in it rent free. We’d have 100% ownership. Repayment only required if we sell the home.

She would maintain the place 100%. We would cover races and insurance.
Relationship aside, does it sound like a fair deal?

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??

I'm not used to IF and had coffee with coconut oil this morning. Thought I was going to pass out since I waited until 11 to eat.

Thinking about adjusting starting to eat at 9:30/10 tomorrow instead.

No questions, just this is going to be something new to get used to.

💲For those who DON'T think a six figure salary is possible:

👉Just ask for it. Really, you would be surprised. Might be easier to switch to a new company and ask. I did that 3 years into my career.

And 🛑 wasting your time at a company that under-values you severely. Sometimes switching companies every 2 years or so will allow you to keep raising the bar for yourself.
