Hi all! Was wondering if anyone could give a referral/insight into moving into sustainability/climate roles in big4, mbb or at CBRE . I have 5 years exp in research analysis/data wrangling/business development in nonprofit and industry consulting, but I want to pivot to sustainability/environment work as its something I really enjoy. My education is in environmental policy and I have internships in renewables/built environment. KPMG PwC Boston Consulting Group

Where’s the politics bowl? 👀
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Congratulations! That is great news. We are all future alumni. Hope you love your new role.
Good luck!!!
Help me find these positions lol
M1 the best way is to get LinkedIn premium for a month, and turn on that you are actively searching. Simply having prior consulting experience and the title will have recruiters hitting you up left and right when you flip that indicator
Doing the same thing this week! Getting anxiety!
How do you put in your two weeks? First time resigning from a job. Grew up with the firm.
M3 - Your firm knowing that you’re looking can be a good thing. I put out some feelers last year and was contacted by two of the Partners I work with who offered to negotiate a raise for me if I really was looking to leave. The reasons weren’t solely related to money, but it felt nice to be in the stronger position for once.
Thanks D2, you’re so kind! So beyond that, how did you let your team know? Coach > partner > team?
OP - I’d like to get tips from you on how to get recruiter tips. Do you have a burner or I can drop mine. FBBurner2018@gmail.com
What do you mean by industry switch?
Good luck! I'm trying to do the same
M3: they don’t let your firms recruiters see it. Read the fine print
Thanks all!! SA1, all will be well, you are doing this for a reason! D1, appreciate that attitude x100, that is the same thing I like to say to anyone who has left before me. D2, it’s on TOD, you go into the dashboard to edit your information and select initiate resignation. Let me know if you want me to drop a burner to assist.
If anyone wants advice on what I did to find opps, let me know. I have been getting 5-10 recruiter hits a week the last month using the LinkedIn premium with the actively looking indicator
D2, I let a bunch of my trusted peers know last week, I am going to let my counselor know tomorrow also, and have a meeting scheduled with my bosses tomorrow. My team I will tell in the afternoon most likely, but I have secretly been working on hefty documentation of how to do my job and transfer of some knowledge I specifically have in the background
You do realize by selecting the “actively looking indicator” on LinkedIn premium will also alert internal recruiters at every firm including your own. Not a very smart move.
@M3, I have gone through the same as mentioned by D3. I was also advised by a prior SM that it was a good thing to explore other opportunities available every two or so years in order to maintain your interviewing capability and evaluate whether you were on track comp wise with your peers and to use those numbers to better negotiate raises and things of that nature at year end of good performance years and promotions, so I am not worried if it alerts internal recruiters also.
M2, I will shoot you an email today as well
P1, best of luck! K1, I have been public sector for most of my career, moving to financial services
Thanks OP - looking forward to receiving your email with tips. I’m interested in hearing how to increase getting hits from recruiters - and what to do with my resume or LinkedIn profile to get better hits and traction with resumes.
